And I'm not being thankful. Awful I know. Not because I don't have anything to be thankful for, but my brain just isn't up to. Nope. I'm exhausted. Tomorrow's Friday, which means NO class:o) Work @1230! BUT...baby checkup @ 9am. Seriously. Who made THAT appointment? Me? ME?! WTF was I thinking.
Anywho...tonight I'm stripping diapers. As Autumn's Aunt Becky put it so lovely, "her diapers stink and are leaking" which means...time to strip! And man, I must be using too much detergent b/c I'm stripping her "clean" diapers and there's only about 4 of them right now. And I'm on my THIRD cycle of hot wash and there's still so many suds. Crap. And then I still have to wash the rest of her diapers and then strip those. What a long night I have ahead. ^*#^O#&%^#&$^*^(*&%(&^%
Yea.
In other news...my baby girl is 7 months today! I have an update to do, I know. She's getting so big and I love her smiles and her playfulness and her attitude (oh yea, she has one!) and just everything about her. Where does the time go?
Inside you will find the ramblings of a highly opinionated, sometimes bat-shit crazy woman who can often be defined as somewhere between the modern-day supermom wannabe and a tree-hugging hippie weirdo. If you don't get me...that's ok. Neither do my friends or family most of the time, but they still love me:o)

Cloth Diapers Reviews
Cloth diapering is going excellent for us! It's not nearly as hard as people make it out to be (those who refuse to even consider it) and doing some extra laundry is really not the biggest inconvenience (doing our regular laundry is more inconvenient because I'm actually required to fold, put away and hang that stuff! diapers just get thrown in the drawer!)
Also...I know this is everywhere on the internet, but from personal experience I am telling you that the SUN WORKS MIRACLES ON STAINS! Holy cows and horses I could not believe what an hour in the sun could do for stains! People told me that breastfed babies didn't stain the diapers. It's a lie. Or I have crummy detergent. Either way...SUN = Cleanliness. (Hm..."cleanliness is next to godliness"....is this why the sun was ancient civilazations main god? because it got their diapers super clean? COULD BE!)
Anywho...here's my reviews are some diaper products thus far:
Kissaluvs Size 0 - most recommended diaper for newborns by far, so they tell me. Supposedly fit 5-15 lb babies. My child was born 9 lbs and reached 10 lbs before 1 month. Since day one use of these diapers her little thighs were being squished:o( And she's not a chunky baby! (at least I don't think so) Do I like them? Sure! They are VERY absorbent and we had no leaks...even with some icky poops! They fit her waist fine, but they are just too tight around her legs. My husband really didn't like using them because he thinks they made her uncomfortable - while I think she actually could care less, it did look uncomfy when taking a diaper off her, so I finally gave in and packed them away a few days before she even officially turned one month:o/ I will keep them for the next child, though I am trying to sell off some of the more worn out ones that I purchased for the "emergency" stash, since we never used as many as I thought we might.
Prorap Covers - sucked. I bought 3 used, really cheap. The elastic and velcro was fine. I don't know if their waterproofing abilities go out the window after awhile or what, but we had leaks EVERY TIME I used these covers with her Kissas. I would make sure to wrap the elastic around her legs and snug under the diaper and I still got leaks. The cover themselves actually got soaked around the elastic leading to the transfer of leakage onto her clothes. I had to change her just about every time she had a wet diaper. It sucked.
MothersEase Covers - LOVE! I decided to try these with the Kissas since the Proraps weren't doing the job. Haven't had a single leak. And because they have several size adjustments with snaps I used them with the Kissas, the MothersEase Sandy (XS) and I can still use them for the S size, too!
MothersEase/Sandys (XS) - I am tempted to say that I like these better than the Kissas. Their fit is nicer - more square...if that makes sense? They don't hug the thighs as tight and the fit around the waist is more even. However, the Kissas have a button down the center for when the cord hasn't fallen off yet and the MothersEase don't. Also (I hope I can explain this), but when you snap the Kissas you bring the snaps towards you which seems more natural. MothersEase diapers snap away from you, making coordination with a squirmy baby a little harder. They only fit 6-12 lbs, which means they fit for just about the same amount of time as the Kissas:o( Overall, though, for newborn diapers I really liked them...perhaps more, if not right on par with the Kissas.
MothersEase/Sandys (S) - These fit 8-20 lbs! Obviously these could have fit Autumn right away, but the XS ones are for the nicer fit as newborns, so I thought these would be too loose on her at first. Now that we're moving up in size these fit awesome. Again - the snaps are annoying because they snap away from you, not towards you. But I have NO leaks thus far. They work awesome with the matching covers. And she seems very comfortable!
Kushies - I didn't buy these - they were given as a gift ordered from Babies R Us. They came in a 5-pack (I received two). I LOVE THEM! They are all-in-ones, so they have the waterproof cover already. They're velcro = "dad-friendly" and quicker changes. They have an extra liner inside (con: it isn't removeable, so it will always be a little bulkier than other diapers), but it is SO absorbent and I've had no leaks. Also, it fits from 10-22 lbs, so it's awesome for this "in between" stage Autumn is going through. All my other AIOs don't start until 14 lbs. They take a little longer to dry, but that's because the cover is attached, so it's expected.
Cloth wipes - have not used them on her. I need to get a spray bottle and some "bits" for a cleaner. I HAVE used them as breast pads though:o) When I've run out of my disposables and haven't had time to run to the store, I've used them and they're pretty absorbent! They're multi-tasking products!

CD CRAZY!
I think I'm ALMOST good on cloth diaper stuff:o)
Tomorrow I'm picking up 9 FREE Kissas - supposedly they aren't in the best shape, but they're free, so who cares? They'll be handy if I need backups for emergencies or something.
I'm also picking up some Mother-ease which will fit during the NB stage and some time afterwards during her "medium" phase, along w/ 2 wraps to go with the diapers.
And I ordered 5 more medium AIOs from Etsy! I love this one shop - the diapers are really cute & get GREAT reviews.
And I got a good amount of cloth wipes for pretty cheap & free shipping off another Etsy store.
AND I ordered our wetbags (travel bags for dirty diapers).
All I have left is to order 2 pail liners & Bac-Out & I think I'll hold off on purchasing anything else. Overall, between Craigslist, sales & second-hand stuff I've saved us over $350 from buying stuff at full-cost! I'm proud of myself!

OH MY!
We have SO MUCH STUFF! Yesterday's shower was awesome. I ate some yummy food (I love Debbie's meatballs!) and got to hang out with friends and family that I don't get to spend much time with. And my CAKE was the coolest! EVER! I can't wait to post pics! Oh, and I willingly shared the spotlight with Caleb because he's such a cutie pie, so who couldn't resist just loving on him?! Of course...he was definitely trying to put Autumn in her place and let her know who the big kid in town was as he bopped up and down on my belly, but I didn't mind...it will just make her a tough girl!
Shawn was right - I came home with more STUFF! STUFF GALORE! I came home with boxes and bags of all sorts of wonderful things, along with my leftover cake and leftover snack food. I spent the rest of the evening unpacking everything. I do not believe in stacking things away in boxes until they'll be used. Time goes by so fast when kids are little that you use things before you know it, so you might as well get it unpacked and put where it belongs from the very start! There is now some organization in the nursery. Today I'm washing all the baby blankets & newborn/0-3 clothes to get us started. I can't put her crib together 100% until I get my crib sheets, which have been purchased off my registry, but I haven't received yet. I CAN put together the bassinet since I went out and bought the new bassinet mattress & sheet today. I need to wash it all though. I also plan on sterlizing all the bottles, utensils, snack traps and other feeding-related items today. I put together her new bouncer, which is soft and snuggly! I put together the strollers. There is a pile o'stuff that is designated for our cars when the cars get cleaned out. Boxes are piled high in the living room, but they're being taken away by friends who are in the process of moving (so convenient!).
And that's that. I got laundry detergent for the baby clothes & cloth diapers (which I also might brave sometimes today). I ran to Babies R Us to use a gift card and purchased a good chunk of items I needed.
This week: finish purchasing registry items & other necessities, stock up on food & other grocery items for the first few weeks of baby's arrival, make some freezer foods, purchase shower gifts for my wonderful sister-in-law and my bestest friend ever, do thank you notes, and try to manage some rest somewhere in the mix of things!

Officially Second Trimester!
Today I am 14 weeks along, officially out of that first trimester ickiness! And ::poof:: the magic abundance of energy comes back...right? Tomorrow? Maybe? No? We'll see:o(
I am feeling ok and trying to eat healthy and stay fit, but let's face it - I'm a lazy woman. I have been in the pool twice this week and while watching mucnhkins be crazy I've sat in the shallow end and did some stretching...now if only I can remember to do it during the day!
My best friend is totally awesome - in a manner of days she's introduced me to two awesome websites. Buybuybaby.com, which is an affiliate of Bedbathandbeyond...which means I get to use the hundreds of coupons I've been savingup. And the other website is theburthsurvey.com. Basically a site where you can review your birth center, hospital, doctor, midwife, etc. My birth center has awesome ratings, for the most part, AND when I looked up midwives in my area (I don't know all the midwives names at my center), ANY midwife that had the same address as my birth center came up with 4 stars or more on a 5 star-rating system. That's GREAT news!
What else? Paperwork for baby finances is completely taken care of, which is a huge relief. I'm in the process of cutting some deals with women from my local Bump board and Craigslist on cloth diapers - I'm trying to stock up by the end of this month to get that taken care of.
Oh, and I feel fat. Yea, sure, I'll post a pic this week to show you. I feel blobby. No real belly action going on - just blob.
And NEXT Friday is our next appt at the birth center - YAY!

Cloth Diapers:O)
So, since I'm always one to be prepared (and I was just DYING to go ahead and get some) I ordered my first CDs today!!!!!!!!!! I ordered 2 Kissaluvs size 0 because they seem to be the most highly recommended for newborns.
I figured if I've got about 34-35 weeks left of pregnancy & I buy at least 1-2 diapers each week that would put me anywhere are about 34-70 diapers total. Now, I don't think I need that many...but when I think i have enough I can go ahead and purchase things like CDs, wetbags, pail liners, fitted covers, and special laundry detergent.
I can see how this become addicting....
